Measuring

This toolkit originates from the Health Sciences Information Consortium and is in the process of being adapted and updated by the CHLA/ABSC Standards Standing Committee.

Measuring value involves determining indicators for evaluating outcomes and impact. Check out the subsections for more specific strategies for data collection and assessment.

Consider both quantitative and qualitative data in your overall plan. Use existing data, informal methods (eg observation), and formal methods (eg surveys or interviews) in your assessment. Think about what you need to know and what is important to your users and stakeholders.

Example

A logic model for planning evaluation activities. From: Cooper, I.D. (2011). Is the informationist a new role? A logic model analysis. J Med Lib Assoc. 99(3).
