Communicating

This toolkit originates from the Health Sciences Information Consortium and is in the process of being adapted and updated by the CHLA/ABSC Standards Standing Committee.

Once you’ve measured value, you need to make sure you communicate it. There are many different methods and vehicles that can be used for communication, ranging from the more traditional reporting to some creative options. Explore the subpages above for some specific examples.

Communicating value can only really come once you’ve assessed or measured your value. It is absolutely essential that you not only communicate your value but that you do so well! Though you may provide a very valuable service, if it is not communicated well that value is hidden. Sometimes you have to do as everyone else does and follow more traditional lines of communication, but other times you can really think outside the box to demonstrate value in creative ways.
